The introduction and chapter 1 (pages 1 to 26 and 79 and 103) are available on Moodle as part of the documents associated with Article A (The Asian Miracle):
Overview-The Making of the Miracle
Chapter 1-Public Policy and Growth
For the World Report (1993), you should initially consult pages 1 to 26 but also the functional model presented in chapter 1 (see figure 2.1 on p. 88). There is no need to read all the chapters of this lengthy report! In addressing the assignment question, you should also undertake additional research and cite this in your report. As a starting point, additional reading has been included on Moodle.
Please refer to the capsule-Article A: An Examination of the World Bank Explanation of the Asian Miracle for further reading and activities which are designed to prepare you for this assignment.

Part a,
Create a set of instructions, an algorithm, or a quasi-algorithm that generates a piece of art.
This algorithm art piece should be written in WORDS, not in code. It may employ any medium may be visual art, music, sculpture, architecture, dance, performance art, digital art, or some other medium not yet considered. The constraints are: 1) your instructions must be able to be completed or performed by between one and four people; and 2) your instructions can be executed by anyone in the class (i.e. no special high-end equipment is needed that only you have).
Remember how Sol Lewitt's quasi-algorithmic pieces are written in words, but executed as wall paintings.
Recall from our discussion in class that Algorithmic or Quasi-Algorithmic art involves the artist creating some kind of instruction set to define the process by which the work of art is created. In the case of the Lewitt Wall Drawing that we studied, the work may best be considered quasi-algorithmic

For this final assignment, you will be creating a food safety manual to be used in your own home. There is a suggested table of contents listed below, but it is up to you to fully address each section. You may add to the table of contents, but you may not delete anything. Remember, this is for use in your own home, so it should be specific to your home. So if you are a parent of small children, you may be including different information than a single retired adult. Take into account the structure of your family, and who typically shops for, stores, prepares, serves, and consumes food in your home.
Do NOT include the explanations in parentheses that follow the table of contents elements these are to help clarify what should be included but DO include page numbers for reference.
Please do NOT copy and paste charts from various websites. Anyone can copy and paste. That does not show that you understand the concepts. Visuals
