In this module you have focused on learning about the principles and logic behind research design. As you work with your team on your research design project in this course, it is important to know what type(s) of research design is (are) appropriate for the proposed research question. For this discussion, you will write an original post in which you address the questions listed below.
Which type of research design (experimental or quasi-experimental) do you think is more likely to have higher validity? Why?
What type of methodology would you use to evaluate the effectiveness of a family preservation/child welfare intervention aimed at reducing the risk for future neglect or abuse in families referred for abuse or neglect?

"A Class Divided" takes a look at a two-day experiment conducted by a third-grade teacher, Jane Elliot, in Iowa. The day after Martin Luther King Jr. was shot, Jane Elliot knew that merely telling and preaching to her third-graders against discrimination wasnt enough. The shooting of Martin Luther King could not just be talked about and explained away. There was no way to explain this to little third-graders. . . .

What specific research methodology (ies) will the study utilize (see above)? What is your lens? Why are those particular methodologies appropriate for the study? There may be more than one methodology. Indigenous theories (Traditional knowledge, Medicine Wheel)? Critical? Decolonizing? Critical Theory? Settler-colonial? Anti-colonial? Feminist? Life histories? Grounded Theory? Participatory? Phenomenological? Constructivist? Case study?
In addition, there are many specific methods that can be utilized including: interviews, a survey, focus groups, sharing circles, historical research, life histories, photo voice, history of their families, performance research or environmental research.
A three page single spaced paper (approximately 1500 words) outline the methodology (ies) and methods that will be used in the study and a rationale for each will be submitted. Also include a sampling strategy that indicates who will be included in t

Use a current event(Unemployment in America) and analyze it using two theoretical perspectives(Karl Marx-Theory of Social class) (Emile Durkheim-Division of Labor in Society). I suggest having an introductory paragraph where you introduce your current event, and then where you indicate that you will analyze it using the two theoretical perspectives. In the first part of the paper you must thoroughly explain the current event that you will analyze.
For the second part of the paper, introduce and summarize your chosen theoretical perspectives(Karl Marx-Theory of Social class) (Emile Durkheim-Division of Labor in Society). Make sure that you cover the important components of these theories by explaining them clearly and correctly. Then apply these theories (one at a time) to your topic. In other words, answer this analytical question: How would [such and such theory] explain what you see happening with your chosen topic? How does this theory elucidate what is going on? What concept

Milestone Three involves proposing how social research can be used to collect additional information on the workplace problem that would provide a more
comprehensive assessment of what has occurred. You will identify the types of information further required, and consider which research methods could be
used to gather reliable and valid data.
Prompt: Submit a 23-page draft of your Application of Research Methodology, addressing all critical elements from Section III below. In thinking sociologically
about the root problem (as summarized in Milestone One), you will craft questions about it that need to be answered to provide a fuller, more in-depth analysis
of it. A research method will then be discussed with respect to how it could be used to gather reliable and valid information to answer these questions.
Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:
