In many cases, the insights of peers can provide a new or different perspective. For this weeks discussion board, you will be asked to post the outline of the lesson that you plan to use for your final teaching presentation. Then, you will explain why this lesson was chosen and how you plan to finalize the lesson before submitting it.

Please provide a statement of approximately 500 words describing your worldview and the resulting implications for education, teaching and learning.A worldview is a person's fundamental perspective on life and living. It answers the deeper questions of life such as: Why is there a universe and what is the meaning of life? A person's worldview is a basic framework, which guides one's thoughts day by day and guides one's actions in all areas of life. It can be thought of as a life philosophy. As such, one's worldview will influence what one considers to be the purpose of education, the approach to teaching and learning and therefore, the reason why one may choose to attend a Christian university.

Write a five page paper, double space, on any topic covered in this course or related to the study of religion. The paper will be graded for both content and spelling and grammar. Establish a thesis paragraph (what you want to say) and then present intelligent arguments, using material that was covered in the course.  Again, there is no right or wrong answers. Your paper can be pro- or anti- religion, as long as it is coherent and well written.

This assignment asks you to form a focused thesis of your choice and carefully support it with a logical argument and evidence from the texts you are analyzing. You will write a 1000-1200 word analysis, supported by relevant quotes from the readings, that advances a thesis argument on the topic of your choice.  The thesis should be built on close readings from and should incorporate readings from at least 2 days in class selected from Oct 5 or later (the Lucretius reading or Later in the semester)

Make sure to craft a thesis that you can support using the texts.  For example, the thesis could be about rhetorical style and writing (for example, exploring how writing style might impact how society is portrayed.  For this type of essay, you could choose two similar styles to make a singular argument about a particular writing style and its effect or two distinct styles to compare).

Unlike your first, this presentation will be on a modern region of the world and the growth/decline of Christianity in that region (see below). This second presentation must include the following as separate components:

An introduction to the current state of Christianity in the region (minority/majority status, growth/decline, unique characteristics/factors, etc.)
A survey of the growth or decline of Christianity in the region from 1970 to the present (and projected to 2020)
Your assessment of the positive and negative aspects of the Christian presence in the region
