Journal
Streetcar Journal Scene 8
Imagine that you are Stanley, Stella, Blanche, or Mitch. Write a journal, from one of their perspectives, about whats been going on, how youre feeling and what youre anticipating. Remember its not your personal thoughts. You are one of the characters. Consider it an interior monologue, stream of consciousness, or journal entry immediately after the events of scene 8. You should incorporate details that have been revealed to this point; however, this is not a series of entries, nor should you summarize every incident chronologically or in an artificial manner. Make it natural. Here are some examples of what their first lines could look like: (Mitch) Could what Stanley told me really be true? (Blanche) I cant believe he just gave me a ticket back to Laurel (Stanley) Its Blanches fault were on our way to the hospital right now (Stella) How could Stanley have done that to her? If you choose Blanche, you can assume what Stanley discovered about her is true or not discuss that at all.
