Forgot to add the response from the peers on this one it showed on the order that it needed to be answered but I forgot to add so here it is.
Part 2: Respond to a Peer this one is from the FPCA

The SEC charged Stryker Corp $7.8 million for violation of improper record keeping, mainly for their India, China, and Kuwait sales. The SEC stated that the company failed to maintain internal record controls. This is the second time Stryker Corp has been charged by the SEC for this reason which initially cost the company $13.2 million in penalties and fees. The company must also hire an independent financial consultant to make sure their record-keeping is in compliance with the law. Two ways the company could have avoided this situation would have been to first to hire their own financial record keepers with the proper training and knowledge required to keep up with the laws and needs of a global company. Also, they should have biannually reviewed their finances internally to make sure everything was progressing the proper way. These steps could have saved the company a lot of money in penalties and fees while keeping the name of Stryker Corp in good standing.

1. We should either pay our teachers better salaries or admit that we don’t care about our children’s education. This an appeal to the emotions as the statement implies we are careless about education.
2. Of course she’s rich! Just look at that diamond ring she is wearing. This is the straw man argument as it is ridiculing the person based on her appearance.
3. I love visiting Wyoming because I enjoy traveling in the West. This is the post hoc ergo propter hoc because there is a correlation between the state and its proximity in the country.
4. He went to college and came back a pothead; college corrupted him. This is an ad hominem as it is attacking his character.
5. The death penalty is a warning just like a lighthouse throwing its beams out to sea. We hear about shipwrecks, but we do not hear about the ships that the lighthouse guides safely on their way. We do not have proof of the number of ships it saves, but we do not tear the lighthouse down. This is a red herring as it is moving away from the original argument to an unrelated topic.
6. The United States is a wealthy country; therefore, Sam Jones must be wealthy. This is a weak analogy as the items being compared are not similar enough, i.e. country versus an individual.
7. Every attempt to prove that people are immortal has failed. No evidence can be found which shows that people’s souls exist after death; hence, immortality must be false. This is an appeal to ignorance because it presumes that there is no evidence to prove the premises are incorrect.

Examine some key reasons why people might seem attracted to pseudoscience-type claims.
