This is the second milestone of your business plan—the marketing plan.
Tasks:
Research the market of your chosen project. Based upon your research and what you have learned in the program, generate a 4- to 5-page marketing plan for your chosen project. In your marketing plan, you should address the following points:
- Explain how the marketing plan targets the market segment.
- Provide a positioning statement for your project.
- Define the products and services you will offer.
- Develop and detail a pricing strategy you will use.
- Describe the promotion plan you will implement.
- Identify the target locations with an assessment of their viability.
Use the Strategic Planning Outline as a guide to complete sections of your capstone project each week. A final paper is due in Week 5. Cite your resources.
Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper in which you explain the importance of innovation in your selected business's vision, mission, and values, and determine your business model for this new division. Include the following:
- Propose a new product or service for the new company division. The division should be customer-focused with an innovative mission statement. Ensure that you are differentiating your product or service.
- Describe how the division addresses customer needs and achieves competitive advantage.
- Create a vision and a business model for this new division that clearly demonstrates your decision on what you want your business to become in the future.
- Explain how the vision, mission, and value of th
1. Complete Problem 2-12 from your text on page 51 using the newsvendor.xls file from Book Examples. Disregard the instruction to keep the sample value at 150, the news vendor sample size is 30 so leave it at that. Your objective is to hone in on the optimal value of of q using trial and error and the news vendor spread sheet. Modify the spreadsheet until you are satisfied with your q value and submit it.
2. Complete Problem 2-15 also on page 51 of the text.
NOTE: There are 3 challenges to the problem:
1. Designing a spreadsheet from scratch that models the structure (flow) of the system. (you must derive an equation that represents the word problem)
2. Designing the spreadsheet to model stochastic behavior of the system (randomness)
3. Designing the spreadsheet to model 30 iterations of the equation resulting in a 30 row simulation.
Assignment 1: Demand Estimation
Due Week 3 and worth 200 points
Imagine that you work for the maker of a leading brand of low-calorie, frozen microwavable food that estimates the following demand equation for its product using data from 26 supermarkets around the country for the month of April.

The instructor will provide students with a scenario and template. Students will evaluate three growth strategies as described in the attached Gold Star Bakey Case.
Required Elements to include in the Report:
- Using course material and your own research, identify within the scenario the information necessary to complete the template.
- Once completed, analyze the findings to determine which strategy aligns best with the owner’s goals for succession planning and sustainability and address the role of innovation in achieving the owner’s goals;
Required Formatting of Report:
- The student will present his/her findings in a two- to three-page report, not including the title page, references, or the template (which must be attached to the report as an exhibit);
Title page with your name, the course name, the date, and instructor’s name;
Use headings;
Include references including reference other than the textbook;

Must have a minimum of five employees
Must have been in business for at least three years
In the first stage of the project, students identify a small business.
Required Elements to include in the Analysis Paper (Stage One):
- Is it advantageous to determine whether the small business owner is willing and available for a student-conducted interview (in preparation for Stage Two);
- The student must submit the small business choice with a paragraph describing the qualifications and rationale;
The second stage of this project is the analysis in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation. In this presentation, students will determine the marketing strategy and human resource approach of the small business.
Required Elements to include in the Analysis Paper (Stage Two):
- Determine the marketing strategy of the small business;
- Discuss the human resource approach of the small business;
- The student must research the industry information and discuss how the small business compares with the industry in which they operate;
- The student may find it valuable to visit the location and/or interview the business owner.
Required Formatting of PowerPoint Presentation:
- A total of 15 to 20 slides will be presented that includes a title slide and a slide for references;
- The note section of PowerPoint is to be used to p
In the final project, students will complete the case study provided as a comprehensive leadership plan analysis) applying concepts learned throughout the course. This paper continues the saga of Joseph Dunn’s leadership at Dunn’s Ski Emporium and The Deli.
You are to help Dunn address his role as relationship builder. Interface the plan you have created in Assignment #1- leader vs. manager assignment with a plan for Dunn’s need to address the potential threats to workforce harmony. Emphasize his role as leader and what he can do to build his relationship with his employees so that he empowers his managers and workforce to implement his vision for the company.
The goal of this paper is to have students link the concepts of Dunn as a social architect, change agent, and individual to Dunn as a relationship builder. Think of a relationship builder as a leader who aligns people to his or her vision. Again, students will write from the leader’s perspective.
