Option 1: Write a Literature Research paper where you critically analyze a literary work in order to interpret possible meaning(s) about the work. You must incorporate scholarly academic research into your paper to support and develop your own analysis of the literary work(s). You can choose any of the literary works from the semester that you have not already written a paper on. For this option you can also choose to analyze more than one literary work from the course that accomplish some greater purpose. Your argument would then focus on the connection you are making between the works.
Your thesis statement in your Introduction should clearly state the argument/interpretation you are making about the literary work. Here are some questions to help you come up with an argument:

A monologue is a speech by one actor on stage. It is usually during a conversation and does not always have to be honest words. This is in opposition to a soliloquy which is a long speech by one actor as he/she stands alone on stage, and speaks a truth that the other characters might or might not know.

In each of the essays on modern literary or art movements that we have read for this class, a historicist view has been taken that identifies Modernism and Modernist practitioners (of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries) as radically different from any kind of movement that preceded it. Whether in Edmund Wilson’s essay on the Symbolists, Malcolm Bradbury’s and James McFarlane’s essay on the Modernists, or Renato Poggioli’s essay on the Avant-Garde, a bold but perhaps debatable argument is made that the aesthetic movements of the last century stand apart as evidence of a cultural crisis that existed at no other time in Western history.
