The course project requires you to perform some focused research on a specific land use topic. The research will focus on tools communities use to address planning, land use, growth- and development-related issues. The purpose of the project is to allow you to pursue a line of inquiry into a component of land use policy that interests you. While the topic-oriented approach does not allow an overall evaluation of a community’s development regulations, land use planning or growth management programs, it allows a broader analysis of approaches communities use to address specific land use policy issues.
