This assessment aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to critically analyse existing health promotion initiatives in communities and clinical areas. The assessment is designed to meet unit learning outcomes 1,2 and 3. By completing the
assignment students will be able to discriminate between the broad range of socio-political factors that influence the health ofthe
community (LO 1), critically analyse international, national, and state policy on health promotion in NSW (LO 2), as well as provide an
opportunity for students to collaborate and liaise with colleagues from other disciplines while preparing and researching forthe assignment
(LO 3)

Details Task:
Describe, critically appraise and discuss current literature pertaining to socio-political factors influencing

health outcomes ofthe local government, community or area of your clinical practice. This assignment requires students to: – Identify and
discuss socio-political determinants of health.
