2. Describe the collection. What types of works (or cultures) are in your chosen exhibit? What does that say about the goal or scope of the exhibit?

It’s an oil paint on canvas done by Gustave Dore. This Artwork represents the how the woman was struggling to help her injured child. The goal of the exhibit was to pull people’s attentions by using their imaginations to guess the reason of the painting. In this kind of painting that tells the people who watch it that there was a kind tragic event behind this panel.
3. Describe the layout of the exhibit. How do you navigate the exhibit? Where do you go first? Where are artworks/artifacts placed? Are works placed on the floor, in cases, on pedestals? How are works grouped – together or placed by themselves? How do these choices impact your understanding or experiences of the exhibit? Are works emphasized over another?

Denver Art Museum is a place where thousands types of Artwork are collected. I went to the 6th floor and I entered many exhibits. The painting of artwork was done on an oil paint on canvas.

4. Describe the design of the exhibit. How are the works/artifacts lit? Indirectly? Directly? Softly? Harshly? Is the exhibit dark? Bright? What colors are used on the wall? Warm colors? Cool colors? White walls? How do these choices impact your understanding and experience of the exhibit?

There were 3 rooms, purple, yellow, and orange. The exhibit I went to was purple. The classical internal design of the exhibit, and the mixing between cool and warm colors reify the quietness of the place. If feel it is a suitable place for people who need to work with a deep focus such as conducting meetings, or studying, or thinking analytically of a topic.
5. Describe how the work is explained. Are there didactic materials? Brochures? Placards? Labels? What do they tell you about the works? What don’t they tell you about the works? How
do they guide your visit and understanding?

In the 6th floor of Denver Art Museum, there are almost three rooms that each of them contains many types of art works. Each artwork represents different symbols and were done by different elements of design. The works were explained nicely, but not in depth. We also were told that how some artists were trying to show the fashionable, and cultures in some of their artwork and how they were trying to create the illusion of different dimensions. Also, some stories of the artworks were narrative so, we became almost aware of the reasons behind each art works we saw.
6. Draw conclusions. What was the overall impact of the exhibit? How did the individual aspects of the exhibit come together? Is there a universal theme of the exhibit? How are the works contextualized? Do you have any other observations?

I’ve been to many exhibits and they all were amazing. Each exhibit has certain type of artworks. They also use certain techniques to show a true story that happened in the past. People reactions were observed by different ways at this exhibit when they saw different type of artworks that represented a story.
